From the XIVth century, we are aware of the existence of professional associations in the notarial scope in Catalonia. For Barcelona, concretely, Juan I granted in 1395 a privilege to the notaries and royal scribes to meet and solve their corporative matters. In this section, you will find information concerning the different Catalan notarial associations that were created, namely, between the end of the Middle ages and the end of the Ancien régime, their organs and main posts, the main scopes object of deliberation or the competency issues affecting them.
